Abstract
This monography intends to analyze a different way of making journalism created in United States in the sixties called Gonzo Journalism. A history of the moment is presented with the beginnings of New Journalism, explaining its most important authors, characteristics of both syles, differences and similarities. By analyzing the articles of the main gonzo author, Hunter Thompson, we explain the style’s characteristics also discussing its proximity with other arts, such as the literary style of chronic and the art of caricature.
